As a practice we would like to have a very open mind with respect to medicine and fully recognise the benefits of several different approaches to the treatment of illnesses.
Complimentary therapies can be used alongside conventional treatments to enhance recovery.
Hydrotherapy can be an excellent way to rehabilitate your pet after surgery, or to help in chronic arthritis cases. Weight loss programmes can also include hydrotherapy. We have close ties with a local pool and can provide more information and referrals for you.
Acupuncture is an ancient Chinese complimentary therapy used to treat a number of conditions from arthritis to skin complaints. We have 3 vets who perform acupuncture and can discuss its possible benefits to your pet.
Homeopathy is used widely on our organic farms alongside conventional treatments, so we appreciate it, understand it and have seen it work. While we can advise on homeopathic treatments for stress, e.g. fireworks, thunder, we currently cannot prescribe homeopathy for medical conditions. However we can seek further advice for you and organise referrals to a homeopathic vet if desired.
Complimentary medicine is a wide and varied subject and we are always open and interested in investigating its value.
