Our surgery offers local care for local people and their pets
The surgery has been established for many years and was predominantly a large animal practice in the 1950’s, when it was owned by Mr Rain. He was joined by jon Gambles in the 1970’s who provided a veterinary service to farms over a large local area. The small animal practice grew, and upon purchase of the surgery in 1999 when Mr Gambles retired it was at least 70% small animal.
The surgery offers full operating facilities, with the back up of the main hospital at 252 Croft Road for specialist facilities.
We offer a
free registration consultation where we give a detailed examination
and preventative health advice after which over the counter products and medicines may be purchased at your convenience.
We cover all out of hours problems 365 days a year - the telephone will be answered in person and the duty vet is always a member of the practice - we do not use any deputising services.
If your pet has a problem during surgery hours, please telephone the practice immediately and we will ensure that you are offered an appointment on a priority basis. Please make it clear that the matter is not routine and we will do our utmost to attend to you at the earliest opportunity.
