Charity fundraising at Drove Vets

Every year we choose a charity to raise funds for and this year we’re proud to be supporting Pets as Therapy (PAT). PAT do amazing work in our community. From providing comfort and companionship to people in the local community who may feel lonely or isolated, to those recovering in hospital. They even visit local schools under the Read2Dogs scheme. Children are invited to read to the dogs which helps improve literary skills and encourages confidence and concentration in the classroom. This year, funds raised at our Summer Dog Shows, totaling £396.61, were donated to PAT and we have several other initiatives running to continue to raise money for a very deserving charity.

Over the years we've supported a variety of local and national causes. Twigs Community Gardens were our focus in 2022 and we raised over £1,600, allowing them to refurbish the polytunnels they use to replenish and sustain their peaceful oasis next to Manor Garden Centre. Other charities and local causes we’ve supported over the years include Hounds for Heroes, the Penny Hooks Farm Trust, and the Guide Dogs for the Blind Association.

We are also proud to support the purple poppy appeal every year, which commemorates animals that served during wartime. Our clients and team members knit purple poppies which then go on sale in our practices. Proceeds are divided between the Royal British Legion and our charity partner of the year. This year the team raised £86!
